Chosen as Creative Loafing's "Best Electronic Act of Atlanta" for 2010 and 2011, Sonen certainly lives up to the title. They are releasing their first full-length recording this summer and will be embarking on a North American tour to support it. Their music is some sort of combination of Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Postal Service and Interpol, but at the same time they have a style all their own - utilizing harmonies and infectious guitar riffs to help them standout in a large sea of electronic-rock and roll mash ups.
Vyie hasn't been around long and as far as I know this is their first show in Atlanta but if they keep making catchy, driving and mysterious music that sounds like it was made for cruising down a freeway late at night with the windows down they will be playing many, many more shows all over Atlanta and everywhere else as well... Check out their tune Saturdays below...
Sonen, Vyie and Technicult hit The Earl stage tonight at 8:30. Tickets are $5.
